Wrapping Up Your First Year

To all current first-year students, we hope that the semester is wrapping up smoothly for you. With finals, goodbyes, and packing up to return home, we understand this is a busy time of the year.

However, we encourage you to take some time to pause and reflect on all that this first year at UW-Madison has done for you. Although you will return to the university after this summer, your first-year is unlike any of the others you will experience in your college career.

It was during these past nine months that you first experience living independently, that you met all new friends, and that you pushed yourself to engage in unfamiliar activities in hopes of crafting your unique Wisconsin Experience.

Although you may be anxiously awaiting summer, we hope that you were able to find the tools and resources necessary to make 2015-2016 a year that was worth the trials and frustrations you may have encountered.

While appreciating all that you accomplished, thinking ahead and making goals for your next few years may also be something worth considering. Do you still wish you reached out to a specific org. but never had time? Are you hoping to land an internship during your next academic year?

No matter what you’re striving to do, we know that you’re experiences as a first-year student have prepared you to succeed in all that you will do. Keep up the hard work Badgers and know that we at the Center for the First-Year Experience are proud to have helped you get through what was once a confusing and unfamiliar time.

You’re professionals now, get ready to take on UW as sophomores in the fall.
