Get Ready to #UWSOAR!

Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR) is the first step to becoming an official Badger! New students begin their transition to college life here, with a glimpse at what their next four years hold. During the day, advising and informative sessions will be held for students and their parents/ guardians to equip them with the tools they need for the upcoming year. A number of campus offices and resources will be present to answer many of the questions you may be considering when coming to UW-Madison. After the busy days of preparation, freshmen can choose to stay overnight in one of the on-campus residence halls to have their first taste of college-living and engage with other first-year students. During the Student Evening Program, activities in Union South’s “The Sett,” such as rock climbing, pool, and bowling, as well as a performance by UW’s First Wave hip hop scholarship group will give students time to have some fun and socializing before reconvening for day two. For any questions you may have about SOAR, contact the SOAR office by email: or by phone: (608) 262-4707
